The Afterschool for All Technical Assistance Collaborative is a collective effort by Youth Worker: Collective, Be the Change Consulting, and Playworks to offer high quality professional development to the after-school field.

Education either functions as an instrument which is used to facilitate integration of the younger generation into the logic of the present system and bring about conformity or it becomes the practice of freedom, the means by which men and women deal critically and creatively with reality and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world.

We believe in the power of experiential learning, hands-on exploration, and creative questioning to discover ways to improve ourselves and our programs, to ultimately create high quality programming for youth.

The AFATAC: Leadership Tracks offerings include 3 learning tracks to explore, grow, share and exchange ideas and strategies to create high quality learning experiences for youth and staff in out of school programs.

Front-Line Staff Learning Academy

As you get older it is harder to have heroes, but it is sort of necessary.

Line staff are called on to show up every day for young people who need them to be friends, teachers, parents, role models and guides. In this series we explore the difficult work of being heroes for young people who need them most.

Learning Circles for Site Coordinators

Learning Circles for Site Coordinators will offer provide participants the opportunity to learn and grow together. This series will highlight best-practices in the field of youth work, and spotlight leaders with a vision for change and a thirst for knowledge.
